SAMAJ PRAGATI KENDRA (SPK) is a non profitable humanitarian, community based civil society organization founded in 2001 by a group of tribal philosophers and social activists to work among PVTGs and tribal communities in Southern Jharkhand called Chhotanagpur referring to the districts of Ranchi, Gumla, Latehar, Simdega, Khunti and Singhbhum.

The organization promotes socio-economic- cultural-educational empowerment of women & girls, tribals, dalits, migrant workers, other marginalized communities, small farmers, trafficking and discriminations and violence affected W/G, in rural villages of Jharkhand.

The organization is empowering PVTGs communities (Primitive Tribes) eg. Agariya Asur, Birhor, Paharia, Brijia, Korwa and hill kharia in the rural villages of Latehar and Gumla Districts.

The organizational activities are concentrated on the thematic areas as empowering women and girls, poverty alleviation, sustainable environment, sustainable organic agriculture practices, girl child education, providing skill training, economic self reliance interventions, rural entrepreneurship, advocacy, laisoining and networking with likeminded individuals, civil societies, corporate sectors and government ministries.

The organization holds its legal entity such as, registration under Indian Trust Act 1882 bearing No. No.24 th July/IV/781/2001, valid Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA ) No. 337840001 of 2010, 12A of Income Exception Tax Act, No. VIII-62/12A/2003-2004/696-98 of 1961, 80G No. ITBA/EXM/S/80G/2020-21/1031934696(1)., PAN No.-AADTS3545H, TAN No.-RCHS 02846, and NGO DARPAN Registration No. JH/2018/0208459.
